Specialist Screening Products

Coreshield design and manufacture a wide range of complimentary products, including doors and waveguides to support and enhance operational shielding systems for modular and welded formats.

Support structure

Larger free-standing chambers often require additional support frames, specifically designed for the mass of the chamber and internal linings.

These structures are supplied with independent structural certification.

Performance doors

Coreshield high performance knife edge screened doors are available in any size, single or double leaf configurations, handed to suit. Latching can be mechanical or pneumatic, multi or single point and finished in colour or lining of choice.

Renowned for reliability and smooth operation, Coreshield doors are unique. Beryllium copper fingers form the important contact areas which are retained in a manner facilitating cleaning, maintenance or repair.

We also manufacture lightweight doors with flat thresholds for MRI applications.

Emergency access & egress

Emergency access hatches are similar in construction to knife edge doors, providing a safe and effective means of escape without loss of chamber performance.

Access ramps are designed to suit a specific purpose. We manufacture lightweight manual ramps for wheelchair access to chambers. Access for heavier equipment to larger chambers would require our pneumatic system. We have installed pneumatic ramp systems with capacities greater than 70 tonnes.

Waveguides

Coreshield ventilation waveguides are unique in design, allowing maximum directional airflow without loss of performance due to the enlarged cell ratio. Available in a variety of cell sizes specific to cut off frequency.

Ground plane benches

We manufacture timber ground plane benches to suit your requirements, each bench is fitted with a tough copper top and multiple earthing points. Castors are fitted for mobility.

EMF Simulation

To assist with the evaluation and assessment of a particular project we use 3D simulation software. This sophisticated software simulates multiple sources of inductions enabling us to correctly identify and quantify the level of electromagnetic field (EMF) mitigation required.

The results provide 3D graphic evidence for project teams to better understand the extent of EMF screening requirements, if any.

Screened windows

Screened windows are used in situations where there is a requirement to visually monitor activities inside a screened environment and to protect equipment from high frequency signals without loss of light transmission.

There is always a trade-off between light transmission, performance and physical size. Coreshield personnel have been instrumental in the design and installation of several projects, including a building with the largest volume of screened windows in Europe.

Typical examples would be: -

  • Sensitive equipment near transient power sources
  • Control areas near radar operations.
  • Operator viewing window MRI Rooms.
